Sound Healing FAQ
BodySong Sound Healing is a particular form of vocal toning. This form of therapy marries vocal sounding and healing touch. It can help decrease pain, improve sleep, mental clarity, and creativity. Every session is uniquely tailored to the receiver’s needs and comfort level.
Science tells us we live in a sea of vibration and everything that vibrates is producing a sound. Given that the human body is composed of vibration, it too carries a symphony of sound for every organ, bone, tendon, and tissue. Even though we can not hear these sounds with our human ear, our body feels sound as sensation. Sound healing then is the practice of directing sound frequencies as an effective way to restore balance in the physical body, in our hearts, minds, and spirits.
Frequently I use touch in my Sound Healing sessions, as touch usually facilitates getting connected to your body which means more becoming more self aware.
I am, however, able work with people using Sound Healing who can not be touched. I’ve done so at the end of life (due to skin tears) and with people who were unable to tolerate any touch for emotional reasons.
Even if I am not able to physically touch my clients, sound penetrates through matter. Opera singers can shatter crystal glasses with their voices. Ultrasound machines can break up kidney stones with sonic frequencies. When you hear music you love often it feels like it’s goes right inside your heart or chest. The sounds I use in Sound Healing go deep into the body-mind without the use of physical touch.
