General FAQ
Yes, every client has a fresh, clean set of sheets for her/his session whether oil is used in the treatment or not.
No. You can receive a treatment regardless of what clothing (if any) you choose to remove. Your comfort and ability to relax is important. The fresh sheet on the massage table is used to cover you up, to ensure your privacy. Before and after the massage, you will be able undress and dress in complete privacy.
At the time of your first massage, you’ll share your health history on a Client Intake Form. I will leave the room to allow you the privacy to get onto the table and make yourself comfortable. Before re-entering the room to begin the massage, I will knock on the door. When I return any of your concerns and goals will be addressed.
The Client Intake Form has important information about your health history and medications you might on which will enable me to offer you the most effective and safe treatment. For instance, it's important to list any allergies that you have so if you're receiving a massage which uses oil I can use an oil which is a fit for you.
No, however if you’d like more time on the massage table it’s recommended to do so beforehand, as the time it takes to fill out and review your Client Intake Form will be part of your scheduled appointment time.
Your appointment has been reserved just for you so to make best use of every minute, please arrive exactly at your scheduled time or no more than five minutes prior to your appointment time. Others may be leaving as you arrive or arriving just as you are leaving. As such, if you arrive late, additional time will not be an option. Please plan accordingly.
Yes. The time you book is your time. You get to decide if there’s conversation or if you'd like to unwind in silence.
I will, however, need to briefly check in with you once and awhile to see if the pressure is working for you or in the case of Warm Stone Massage to see if the temperature of the stones is right for you.
No, you don't. While many therapists play slow, quiet music, you can choose to have different music or no music at all. Feel free to ask about my massage music menu. It's also okay to bring your own music from home.
Is the time it takes me to change out of and into, my clothes part of my scheduled appointment time?
Yes, it is.
The oil which I use is a high quality, natural oil, Bon Vital Naturale Massage Oil. The ingredients are as follows:
Safflower Seed Oil (Carthamus Tinctorius),Ethythenyl Palmitate, Grapeseed Oil (Vitis Vinifera), Laureth-4, Fractionated Coconut Oil (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride), Peach Kernal Oil (Prunus Persica), Apricot Kernal Oil (Prunus Armenica), Aloe Vera Extract (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice), Gylcine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil (Simmondsia Chinensis),Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Sea Algae Extract, Retinyl Palmitate, and Tocopherol.
I will gently let you know using words, that the treatment is over. This is so that you are not left lying on the table wondering if the massage is complete.
If you arrive late for your appointment I will give you the very best session I can in the time remaining. The time was allocated for you, so you will be responsible for paying the full amount for your scheduled appointment.
Yes. I ask that you notify me a minimum of 24 hours before your individual appointment or 48 hours before your group appointment, if for any reason you wish to change or cancel it. For a missed appointment or a cancellation with less than 24 hours (or 48 hours) notice, the full appointment fee will be charged.
Yes. Sometimes your awareness can be internal after a massage or healing bodywork session. For this reason I recommend that you do several things to ensure you are as aware of the outer world (cars, traffic etc.) as you are of your inner world. I suggest that you drink some water as it's grounding. I also recommend that you give yourself at least five minutes to walk (somewhere safe like on a sidewalk) very slowly with your attention on your feet. Notice how the bottoms of your feet feel as they rub against your socks and the bottoms of your shoes. Be aware of the weight of your legs as you lift and place them down for each step. What subtle or not so subtle movements does your abdomen make as you move? Take in how the air feels on your face. Is it cold, hot? Is there a breeze? The above two transitioning strategies are offered to help ease you back into the everyday world while remaining connected with the state of relaxation you may be experiencing.
We realize that the following may not be possible and in a perfect world, if you’re able to go to sleep in a similar state of relaxation to that which you experienced during your session, I’ve found that most people will experience deeper and longer lasting treatment effects. This occurs because you have the benefit of time, the night, to allow the shifts which have taken place to settle and integrate, in a significant way.
Abstaining from alcohol, recreational drugs, caffeine, computer work, and stress producing activities like fighting, after your session, until the following day, may not be realistic, nonetheless are recommended for optimal results.
